Terms of Service
Last updated: October 3, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Valero Legal website and your engagement of our services. By using this website or engaging Valero Legal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.
Important: consulting services, not legal advice
Valero Legal provides practice development consulting and contract business immigration paralegal services. We are not a law firm, and nothing we provide is legal advice. Legal advice is provided only by licensed attorneys.
Valero Legal is a consulting business that helps law firms build, grow, and operate employment-based immigration practices. We do not practice law, we do not represent clients in legal matters, and no communication with us — through this website, by email, by phone, or in the course of an engagement — creates an attorney-client relationship. If you need legal advice about immigration law or any other legal matter, consult a licensed attorney.
Our contract paralegal services are performed for and under the direction and supervision of licensed attorneys at the law firms that engage us. Responsibility for legal work product, legal strategy, and legal advice remains at all times with the supervising attorney.
What services does Valero Legal provide?
Valero Legal provides two categories of services to law firms: practice development consulting and contract business immigration paralegal services. Practice development covers areas such as launching or expanding an employment-based immigration practice; practice strategy, pricing, and service lines; marketing, sales, and client acquisition; mentoring for attorneys and training for paralegals and staff; and the systems, workflows, SOPs, and KPIs that support the practice. Contract paralegal services cover business immigration case support — primarily employment-based matters such as PERM, I-140, H-1B, and related filings, as well as other immigration matters — performed under the supervision of the engaging firm’s attorneys.
The specific scope, deliverables, fees, and timeline of any engagement are set out in a separate written agreement or proposal between Valero Legal and your firm. If those engagement terms conflict with these Terms, the engagement terms control for that engagement.
No attorney-client relationship
No attorney-client relationship is created by using this website, contacting Valero Legal, or engaging our services. Valero Legal is not a law firm and does not offer legal representation. Content on this website — including blog posts, glossary entries, guides, checklists, and comparison pages — is provided for general informational purposes only. It reflects operational and business experience with employment-based immigration practices; it is not legal advice and should not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney.
Who may use this website?
This website is intended for law firm owners, attorneys, and legal professionals in the United States evaluating consulting and contract paralegal services for their practices. You agree to use the site only for lawful purposes and not to interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access to it, or use it to transmit anything unlawful or harmful.
Intellectual property
The content on this website — text, guides, checklists, graphics, and branding — is owned by Valero Legal and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may view, download, and print content for your firm’s internal evaluation and use. You may not republish, resell, or distribute our content commercially without written permission.
Fees and payment
Fees for practice development consulting and contract paralegal services are set out in your written engagement agreement or proposal. Unless that agreement states otherwise, invoices are due as stated on the invoice, and Valero Legal may pause work on engagements with overdue balances.
Confidentiality
Valero Legal treats client and case information shared during an engagement as confidential and uses it only to perform the engaged services. Specific confidentiality obligations for an engagement are set out in the applicable engagement agreement. Note that communications with Valero Legal are not protected by attorney-client privilege, because Valero Legal is not a law firm; any privilege analysis for work performed under attorney supervision is the responsibility of the engaging firm’s attorneys.
Disclaimer of warranties
This website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Immigration processes, government fees, and agency practices change frequently; we do not warrant that website content is current or error-free. Business outcomes — revenue, growth, efficiency — depend on many factors outside our control, and Valero Legal does not guarantee any particular result from consulting or operational recommendations.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Valero Legal and its principal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost revenue, or loss of business opportunity — arising out of or relating to your use of this website or our services. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Valero Legal’s total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to an engagement shall not exceed the fees actually paid to Valero Legal for the services giving rise to the claim during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Valero Legal and its principal from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of this website, your violation of these Terms, or legal advice or legal services provided by you or your firm to your own clients.

This website may link to or integrate third-party services, such as scheduling tools and social platforms. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and Valero Legal is not responsible for their content or practices.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of this website shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. A written engagement agreement may specify different dispute-resolution terms for that engagement.
Changes to these Terms
Valero Legal may update these Terms from time to time. The “updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision, and continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
