Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
Valero Legal (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through valerolegal.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Valero Legal provides practice development consulting and contract paralegal services to law firms; we are not a law firm, and legal advice is provided only by licensed attorneys.
If you have any question about this policy, email us at dvalero@valerolegal.com or call 305-219-9898.
What information do we collect?
We collect only the information you choose to give us and standard usage data generated when you visit our website. Specifically:
Information you provide directly. When you fill out a contact form, subscribe to our email list, download a resource, or schedule a call, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, firm name, role, and any details you include in your message. We do not ask for, and you should not submit, confidential client information or case details through our forms.
Scheduling information. When you schedule a call, scheduling is handled through zcal, a third-party scheduling service. That service collects your name, email address, and appointment details under its own privacy policy, and shares the booking details with us so we can hold the meeting.
Usage and analytics data. Like most websites, we use analytics tools that collect information such as pages visited, time on page, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and referring website. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
Cookies. Our site and the third-party tools it uses may set cookies to remember preferences and measure site performance. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site will still function.
How do we use your information?
We use your information to respond to your inquiries, deliver the services and resources you request, and improve our website. In practice, that means:
- Replying to contact form submissions and emails.
- Scheduling and holding calls you book with us.
- Sending resources you request, such as guides or checklists.
- Sending occasional emails about our services and content if you have subscribed — every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Understanding how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Who do we share your information with?
We share information only with the service providers that keep our business running, and only as needed for them to do their job. These include our website hosting provider, our email marketing platform (which stores our email list and sends our newsletters), our scheduling service, and our analytics provider. Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy and contractual obligations.
We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, and in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or sale of assets.
How long do we keep your information?
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above. Email list subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact form submissions and correspondence are kept as long as reasonably necessary to manage our relationship with you and to meet legal and accounting obligations, after which they are deleted. Messages sent through our website forms are delivered to our business email, and a backup copy is kept on our web server for up to 12 months.
What are your privacy rights?
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing dvalero@valerolegal.com. We will respond to verified requests within the timeframes required by applicable law.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Visitors from the European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR). If GDPR applies to you, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Our legal bases for processing are your consent (email subscriptions), performance of a contract or pre-contract steps (responding to inquiries, delivering services), and our legitimate interest in operating and improving our website. You may withdraw consent at any time and may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Email preferences. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message or by emailing us directly.
How do we protect your information?
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including secure hosting, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access limited to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we work with reputable providers and limit the data we collect in the first place.
Do we collect information from children?
No. Our website and services are directed at law firm owners and professionals, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links
Our site links to third-party websites and services, such as LinkedIn and our scheduling service. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. Review their policies before providing information.
Will this policy change?
We may update this policy from time to time as our practices or the law change. The “updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page; continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
How can you contact us?
For any privacy question or request, contact Valero Legal at dvalero@valerolegal.com or 305-219-9898. We serve law firms nationwide and will respond as promptly as we can.
